Netscape, Firefox or Mozilla on a PC

You can change the text (font) and background colour displayed by adjusting your browser settings. These settings are adjusted using the menu at the top of the screen.

Here you will find steps for changing text and background colour using either:

a.  Your mouse, or
b.  Your keyboard

Using your mouse:

  1. Select the 'Tools' menu within your internet browser.
  2. Select 'Options' from the Tools menu.
  3. Click on the 'Content' tab.
  4. Click on the 'Accessibility…' button.
  5. Click on the 'Colors' button.
  6. Make sure the 'Use system colors' checkbox is unchecked.
  7. To change your text colour, click the colour swatch next to the 'Text:' heading and click on the colour you want to use.
  8. To change background colour, click the colour swatch next to the 'Background:' heading and click on the colour you want to use.
  9. Deselect 'Allow pages select their own colours, instead of my selections above'.
  10. Click on the 'OK' button, and then on the 'OK' button again to return to Firefox.
  11. Click on the 'Reload current page' button on the Navigation toolbar to reload the page with your colour settings.

Using your keyboard:

  1. Click the 'Tools' menu by pressing 'Alt' + 'T'.
  2. Press 'O' to display the 'Options' dialog box.
  3. Use the arrow keys until the 'Content' tab is highlighted.
  4. Press 'Alt' + 'C' to open the 'Colours' dialog box
  5. Make sure the 'Use system colors' checkbox is unchecked by pressing 'Alt' + 'S' to deselect it if it is selected
  6. For your background colour, press 'Alt' + 'B' to jump to the background colour palette and use the cursor keys to browse the list of colours and then press 'Enter' to choose the highlighted colour.
  7. For your text colour, press 'Alt' + 'T' to jump to the background colour palette and use the cursor keys to browse the list of colours and then press 'Enter' to choose the highlighted colour.
  8. Press 'Alt' + 'A' to deselect 'Allow pages select their own colours, instead of my selections above' check box.
  9. Press 'Enter' to return to the options dialog box.
  10. Press 'Tab' until the 'OK' button is selected and press 'Enter' to return to Firefox.
  11. Press 'Ctrl' + 'R' to reload the page with your colour settings.
