HPCB submits statement on European Commission Green Paper

HPCB has submitted a statement in response to the European Commission's Green Paper on the European Workforce for Health. The statement was supported by 29 (national or European level) organisations.

The Green Paper was adopted in December 2008. It identifies and highlights the common challenges facing health systems in Europe, such as Europe's ageing population and new and re-emerging threats to health. It hopes to identify areas for further action. The Green Paper mentions Healthcare Professionals Crossing Borders (HPCB) as an initiative aimed at improving access to information between EU member states when professional conduct has been brought into question.
